IMPORTANT: Please read these Official Rules before entering the
MISSISSIPPI BLUE 42 Ultimate Tailgate Prize Pack Giveaway (the “Sweepstakes”), presented by Soho Press(“Sponsor”). By entering the Sweepstakes, you agree to the terms of these Official Rules. These Official Rules shall govern in the event of any inconsistency with other Sweepstakes-related materials.
Soho Press is the sole sponsor of this Promotion. Penguin Random House, Nomad Grills, Mystery to Me bookstore, Google, Meta, Mailchimp, TikTok, Eli Cranor, and all other companies and individuals are not sponsors of this Promotion, nor do they endorse this Promotion.
Participation constitutes acceptance of rules and decisions, consent to use and release of claims.
ELIGIBILITY: The Promotion is open to residents of the United States and the District of Columbia, excluding the state of Rhode Island, who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at time of entry. Any person who is under 18 years of age or otherwise under the legal age of majority in their place of residence. All federal, state, and local regulations apply. LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER PERSON PER METHOD OF ENTRY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED. Employees of Sponsor, its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, and agencies, and their immediate family members and persons living in their household are not eligible to enter the Promotion.
ENTRY PERIOD: The Sweepstakes begins at 12:00 AM ET July 20, 2025, and end at 11:59 PM ET August 6, 2025.
HOW TO ENTER: Online entry only. Enter by registering for the live Eli Cranor digital preview event at https://www.crowdcast.io/c/eli-cranor-preview OR by completing and submitting the entry form at https://books.sohopress.com/ultimate-tailgate.
Entrants must have a valid e-mail address.
In the case of a dispute, entries will be deemed made by the authorized holder of the applicable socialnetwork account and/or e-mail address used for entry. Automated entries are prohibited, and use of anyautomated devices will result in disqualification. Sponsor is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry of information by entrants; lost or late entries or transmissions; interrupted or unavailable network, server, or other connections; scrambled transmissions or other errors or problems of any kind whether mechanical, human, or electronic, technical malfunctions of any computer hardware, software, or any combinations thereof; or problems associated with any virus or any other damage caused to entrants’ systems. Incomplete or ineligible entries will be voided. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. If for any reason the Sweepstakes is not capable of being conducted as described in these rules, Sponsor shallhave the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes.
PRIVACY POLICY: All information submitted in connection with entry to this Sweepstakes shall begoverned by Sponsor’s privacy policy (at https://sohopress.com/resources/private-policy/). By entering thisSweepstakes, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this privacy policy.
PRIZE: Grand Prize Approximate Retail Value(s): $875.00 which will include:
One (1) Nomad Grill and Smoker
Four (4) drink coozies
One (1) Soho Crime pennant flag
One (1) author-signed football
No transfer or cash or other substitution of all or part of a prize is permitted, except by Sponsor, which reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute the prize or prize component with another of comparable or greatervalue. Any and all taxes on the prize will be the responsibility of the winner.
Sponsor shall not be responsible for any delays, damage in the delivery of the prize, and/or loss of any prize in connection with delivery of the prize via mail. In the event that there is an insufficient number of eligibleentries, Sponsor reserves the right not to award the prizes.
WINNER SELECTION: ONE (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected from a random drawing on or around August 3, 2025. Winner will be notified via e-mail. Winner must respond to such notifications within ten (10) days of receipt. Winner must provide Sponsor will full contact details in order to be awarded the prize. Winner may also be required to complete, execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release. Noncompliance with these conditions may result in forfeiture of the Prize, and Sponsor reserves the right to select an alternate winner (in a random drawing from all other eligible entries) in such circumstance.
CONDITIONS: Prize to be awarded as described to the Winner and Winner alone, with no substitutions. In the event the Winner does not use the Prize or any portion of the Prize, there will be no reimbursement or compensation provided. All federal, state and other taxes are the responsibility of the Winner. Sponsor will report the value of the Prizes awarded as required by law and the Winner will receive an IRS Form 1099 for a Prize valued in excess of $600.00. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not increase chances of winning. By participating in this Sweepstakes, entrants hereby waive and release, and agree to hold harmless the Sponsor and their affiliated companies and the directors, officers, employees, and agents of each, from and against, any breach by the entrant of a representation or condition of the Sweepstakes, any claim for injuries (including death) loss, or damage, arising in whole or in part, from the acceptance, possession, use or enjoyment of the Prize, participation in the Sweepstakes, or in any Prize-related activity. By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules, (including the conveyance of ownership rights of the Submission to Sponsor), and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final. By accepting the Prize, the Winner agrees that the Sponsor and its related and affiliated companies and agencies, Winner’s name, address (city, state), photograph, likeness, and/or statements made by or attributed to the Winner relating to Sponsor or to the Sweepstakes for advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in any and all media now or hereafter known, worldwide in perpetuity, without further notice, permission and/or compensation.
If Sponsor is unable to contact the Winner after ten (10) days from date of first notification attempt, or if (i) the Winner fails to complete and return all requested documents by the date specified by the Sponsor, (ii) the Winner is found to be ineligible, (iii) the Winner fails to comply with the Official Rules, or (iv) the Prize confirmation letter is returned as undeliverable, the Winner will be deemed ineligible and disqualified, the Prize will be forfeited, and Sponsor will select an alternate winner.
There is a limit of one (1) Submission per individual. Submissions from any one person or email address in excess of the maximum allowed will be disqualified. By entering a submission, (1) the entrant represents that the Submission is owned by the entrant and is an original and complete purchase by the entrant and by submitting any entry (2) the entrant is agreeing to convey all rights, title, and interest in the Submission to the Sponsor and through such conveyance, understands and agrees that Sponsor and its designees have the perpetual and unlimited, exclusive, worldwide and irrevocable right to use the Submission for all purposes in connection with Sponsor’s business activities. Criteria for Submissions: No group or collaborative efforts are allowed and Submissions are restricted to individual entrants only. Submissions that do not meet the criteria set forth herein will be disqualified.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: Sponsor and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, and affiliated companies, advertising, promotion or production agencies and all of their respective officers, directors, representatives, agents and employees are not responsible for lost, late, delayed, inaccurate, incomplete, or misdirected Submissions, or for electronic, network or computer failures or malfunctions, or other hardware, software or technical errors of any kind including any injury or damage to any person’s computer related to, or resulting from, participation in the Sweepstakes or for other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Sweepstakes, the processing of Submissions, or in any Sweepstakes-related materials. All entries become the property of the Sponsor. Entrants may be requested to provide Sponsor with proof that the entrant is a resident of the physical address associated with the entrant’s Submission. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. Headings are provided for convenience only. Sponsor will not acknowledge receipt of any Submission. Sponsor is not responsible or liable for any loss, damage, inconvenience, or loss of time arising out of any acts, omissions, or negligence, of any person, including, without limitation, transportation carriers and any person providing any service or accommodation in conjunction with any component of the Prize awarded in the Sweepstakes, or for delays and cancellations including, but not limited to those resulting from mechanical breakdown, closings, strikes, government action, inclement weather, or Acts of God. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the mechanics of this Sweepstakes will be declared ineligible and may be prosecuted. If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes is not capable of being conducted as planned because of tampering, intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other reason (each an “Intervening Cause”), which affects the security, fairness, or proper execution of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right to modify or cancel the Sweepstakes if prior to the end of the Sweepstakes Period, or otherwise award the Prize through a drawing from all eligible entries received which, in Sponsor’s discretion, were not affected by the Intervening Cause. Any disputes regarding this Sweepstakes shall be governed by New York law and resolved in courts sitting in New York County, New York. Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Sweepstakes, but in no event attorney fees. With regard to the Prize being awarded, Sponsor makes no express or implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Entrant waives any claim for punitive, incidental and consequential damages. Void where prohibited.
DISCLAIMERS: By competing in this Sweepstakes and/or accepting the prize, entrants agree that Sponsor and their respective parent companies, assigns, subsidiaries and affiliates, and advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies and all of their respective employees, officers and directors will have no liability whatsoever, and will be held harmless by entrants for any liability for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind to person and property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the acceptance, possession, misuse, or use of the prizes, or participation in this Sweepstakes. By accepting a prize, each Winner consents to the use of his/her name for publicity and promotional purposes on behalf of Sponsor withno additional compensation or further permission (except where prohibited by law).
Any dispute arising from this Sweepstakes will be determined according to the laws of the State of NewYork, without reference to its conflict of law principles, and by entering the entrants consent to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York County and agree that such courts haveexclusive jurisdiction over all such disputes.
